About this trip

Marmolada is the highest mountain in the Dolomites — 3,343 m of glacier and rock, with some of the last remaining ice in the range – so we’re climbing it this June.

Six days in the Italian Dolomites.

We start in Alta Badia (Colfosco) to acclimatize: valley walks, a ridge hike to Sassongher, and a classic via ferrata in the Sella Group.

Then we move to Rifugio Castiglioni at Passo Fedaia for the summit staging night.

The next morning, we rope up on the Marmolada glacier, climb the roccette, and walk the Schena de Mul — the ridge to the summit. We sleep at Capanna Punta Penia, the highest hut in the Dolomites, anchored to the summit rock. We meet sunrise at 3,343 m.

Then – we celebrate and call it one of the most memorable adventure in our lives.

Let's climb the Queen of the Dolomites before her glaciers are gone.

Prior experience in alpine terrain (such as via ferrata, glacier travel, or high-altitude hiking) is highly recommended. Even without technical experience, participants should at least be comfortable moving on uneven and unstable terrain and be well trained for sustained physical effort.
